Privacy Policy
Quarterday (“Quarterday,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) helps homeowners understand what maintenance their home needs. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use quarterday.app (the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
We aim to collect only what we need to build and deliver your maintenance plan.
- Address you enter. We use the property address you provide to look up publicly available facts about the home - such as year built, size, and land use - from government and county records, and to determine your home's region and local conditions (such as freeze risk and humidity). We do not need or ask for your name to generate a plan.
- Email address. When you choose to reveal your full list, we collect your email so we can send you a copy of your plan and, if you become a member, ongoing maintenance reminders.
- Payment information. If you purchase a membership, payment is processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number. We receive limited details from Stripe such as a payment confirmation, the last digits/brand of your card, and your subscription status.
- Usage and device data. Like most websites, we and our infrastructure providers automatically receive standard log data - such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps - to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
- Analytics and advertising data. We use cookies and similar technologies (including tags and pixels) so that we and our analytics and advertising providers can understand how the Service is used - for example, pages viewed, referring links, approximate location derived from your IP address, and device and browser details - to measure performance and, where enabled, to show and measure our advertising. See "Analytics, advertising, and cookies" below for the providers involved and how to opt out.
How we use information
- To generate your personalized home-maintenance plan, tuned to your home and region.
- To email you a copy of your plan and, for members, reminders before tasks come due.
- To process payments, manage memberships, and provide customer support.
- To operate, secure, debug, and improve the Service, including guarding against bots and abuse.
- To measure and analyze how the Service is used so we can understand what's working and make it better.
- To promote the Service, including through advertising and, where enabled, retargeting to people who have visited the Service.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
How your address is handled
The address you enter is used to query public-record and geocoding services so we can pre-fill facts about your home. We use these third-party lookups (including the U.S. Census geocoder and public county parcel data) at the time you submit your address. We do not sell your address, and we do not use it to identify you personally.
Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information with service providers and partners who help us run, measure, secure, and promote the Service, and only as needed to do so:
- Stripe - payment processing and subscription billing.
- Email delivery - to send your plan and reminders.
- Hosting and infrastructure - to operate the Service.
- Public-record and geocoding services - to look up home facts from the address you enter.
- Cloudflare - bot detection, security, and network protection, including the Turnstile challenge on our checkout.
- Analytics providers (such as Google Analytics) - to measure and understand how the Service is used.
- Advertising partners (such as Meta/Facebook), where enabled - to deliver and measure advertising, including retargeting.
Some privacy laws (such as the CCPA/CPRA) treat the use of advertising or retargeting cookies as a "sale" or "share" of personal information, even when no money changes hands. Where that applies, you can opt out as described in "Analytics, advertising, and cookies" and "Your choices and rights" below.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Analytics, advertising, and cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies for a few purposes:
- Essential. To keep your in-progress intake together as you move through the steps and to protect against cross-site request forgery. These are necessary for the Service to function.
- Security and anti-abuse. We use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell humans from bots at checkout without traditional captchas.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Service so we can improve it. We also verify site ownership with search engines such as Google and Bing using verification tags; those tags do not track you.
- Advertising and retargeting. Where enabled, we use advertising cookies and pixels from partners such as Meta/Facebook to promote the Service and to show relevant ads to people who have visited us. We may add or change advertising partners over time.
You can control cookies through your browser settings and, on many devices, limit ad tracking at the operating-system level. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's opt-out browser add-on, and manage advertising preferences through Google Ads Settings and your Meta ad preferences. Where required by law, we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business or legal purposes. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, subject to records we must keep (such as transaction records).
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe. Every email includes an unsubscribe link; you can opt out of non-essential email at any time.
- Access & deletion. You may request a copy of your information or ask us to delete it by emailing us.
- Membership. You can cancel your membership at any time; cancellation is also covered by our Terms.
- Analytics & advertising. You can opt out of analytics and advertising cookies as described in "Analytics, advertising, and cookies" above, including opting out of Google Analytics and managing your Google and Meta ad preferences.
- Do Not Sell or Share. Where the CCPA/CPRA or similar laws apply, you may opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising by disabling advertising cookies and contacting us at [email protected].
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA. We honor those rights where they apply.
Children
The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and Cloudflare Turnstile to guard against bots and abuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes may be communicated by email or on the Service.
